KUALA LUMPUR : Tan Kim Her has been given another player – Goh Jian Hao – to work with and he can expect more after the World Junior Championships.
Yesterday, national doubles chief coach Rexy Mainaky said that it was best for Jian Hao to train under Kim Her following an injury to his partner Lau Win Hwi.
Win Hwi has to take some time off from training due to a stomach ailment.
Kim Her, who has no qualms taking Jian Hao on board, is planning to take his time before making a decision on reshuffling the players under his charge.
The others in his squad are Pang Zheng Lin-Chooi Kah Ming, Vountus Indra Mawan-Mohd Lutfi Zaim Abdul Khalid and Goh Wei Shem-Teo Kok Siang.
“I have seven players now. I want to spend more time in assessing them before deciding whether any of them should change partners,” said Kim Her.
“I will probably have a better idea by the end of next week. I will name the new combinations for the Asian Badminton Championships (ABC) in April.”
Kim Her also said that several players from the World Junior squad would be promoted to the national team after the event ends in April and that he was looking forward to grooming them into world-beaters.
